eSports being called a ‘real sport’

I think eSports should be called a real sport because people don’t understand how much work goes into being an eSports athlete. I have been watching Matthew ‘Nadeshot’ Haag since 2013 and he’s been Call of Duty eSports player since 2008. He retired in 2015 just so he can focus on making YouTube content. In a video announcing his retirement, he has said how many hours he has put into eSports and he just needed to back away from competing at events every weekend. He said in the video how he would wake up at 10am, stream and practice until sunset and then repeat the process the next day. He did that for 365 days. Every weekend, there are eSport events and prize pools will go up to $5 million. eSports is growing and growing and eventually it will be televised on national television. I feel like people are just saying, “oh it’s video games, it’s not a sport.” Well there are people who quit their jobs or drop out of college because they love playing video games and they wanna win money and compete. You can get sponsorships just like any other sport. You can make money just like any other sport. You practice for hours just like any other sport. The only difference is the physical part. That’s the thing people argue about the most. The physicality of eSports. If the game Counter Strike was being televised on ESPN and it had the second highest ratings on ESPN in 2019, don’t you think eSports should be a real sport? If the streamer Ninja is making $500,000 a month just by playing competitive video games and having sponsorships, that should make eSports a real sport? I think so. People need to look at eSports in depth and understand the physicality is not the only thing to consider.

Political Quizzes

I just took quizzes on political ideology and bias. Oh boy was I in for a treat. I did not agree with my results because each quiz said how I was Democrat and that is not true. I don’t trust any of the political quizzes which show what side you represent because every time I take one, the result is not right. The last quiz I took, the quiz had my bias as “Center” which is not true at all. I did not see the results from the population but I do think the results would be completely different. My expectations were completely off. Each quiz placed me in the Democrat and Center area and I disagree with the results from each quiz. To me, the quizzes should be more simple by saying, “Yes if you agree or No if you don’t.” If the quiz has strongly agree and goes to strongly disagree, the results will probably place you somewhere you will not agree with. The results weren’t spot on but its okay. A lot of my friends don’t trust the political quizzes just because they will be placed in an area they don’t agree with.

Eating Unhealthy Is The Way To Go

A lot of people have said that eating healthy is really important and that’s really false. Eating unhealthily is the way to go because who doesn’t love a nice cheeseburger from Five Guys and the nice greasy fries that you can get as well? When people workout, you see them eat these high protein meals and vegetables that make them look like they are eating clean but in reality, they eat so much cheeseburgers and fries from Five Guys it’s amazing to see. Whenever you are done working out, make sure to go to Five Guys and ask for a cheeseburger because that’s the best healthy meal you can get. Trust me, the cheeseburger and fries combo? The best option you can do. Same with In-N-Out. The cheeseburger and fries combo is the best healthy option you can get and it’s been proven by Arnold Schwarzenegger. He said, “I eat cheeseburgers 24/7. Morning, Afternoon and Evening.  When I was Terminator, I ate so much greasy food, I didn’t need to work out because that was the best healthy option.” Eating unhealthily may seem not so good, but don’t worry at all, it is THE best way to go to eat food. When you’re done working, what will you? That’s right go eat some greasy, unhealthy food. Why would you eat greens when you can eat greasy food? Listen to Arnold Schwarzenegger because if you don’t listen to him, then what’re you doing? Eat that greasy food because your life will be amazing!

Introduce Yourself (Example Post)

This is an example post, originally published as part of Blogging University. Enroll in one of our ten programs, and start your blog right.

You’re going to publish a post today. Don’t worry about how your blog looks. Don’t worry if you haven’t given it a name yet, or you’re feeling overwhelmed. Just click the “New Post” button, and tell us why you’re here.

Why do this?

  • Because it gives new readers context. What are you about? Why should they read your blog?
  • Because it will help you focus you own ideas about your blog and what you’d like to do with it.

The post can be short or long, a personal intro to your life or a bloggy mission statement, a manifesto for the future or a simple outline of your the types of things you hope to publish.

To help you get started, here are a few questions:

  • Why are you blogging publicly, rather than keeping a personal journal?
  • What topics do you think you’ll write about?
  • Who would you love to connect with via your blog?
  • If you blog successfully throughout the next year, what would you hope to have accomplished?

You’re not locked into any of this; one of the wonderful things about blogs is how they constantly evolve as we learn, grow, and interact with one another — but it’s good to know where and why you started, and articulating your goals may just give you a few other post ideas.

Can’t think how to get started? Just write the first thing that pops into your head. Anne Lamott, author of a book on writing we love, says that you need to give yourself permission to write a “crappy first draft”. Anne makes a great point — just start writing, and worry about editing it later.

When you’re ready to publish, give your post three to five tags that describe your blog’s focus — writing, photography, fiction, parenting, food, cars, movies, sports, whatever. These tags will help others who care about your topics find you in the Reader. Make sure one of the tags is “zerotohero,” so other new bloggers can find you, too.
